Stones We Use
In wet areas, stone selection follows humidity, frequency of use and surface preference. Marble and travertine are the stones we work with most in bathrooms; onyx, combined with lighting, offers a distinctive accent surface.
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions asked most before deciding.
Does marble stain in the bathroom?
Marble is a porous stone; but with the right surface finish, a protective (impregnation) treatment and pH-neutral cleaning, it performs without problems in a bathroom. Honed (matte) surfaces show water marks far less than polished ones.
Do you build hammams and heated central platforms?
Yes. Central platforms (göbek taşı), stone basins (kurna), heated surfaces and hammam cladding are installed with stone chosen for heat and humidity. You can see a completed hammam in our gallery.
Can a shower area be clad in natural stone on floor and walls?
Yes. With the slope and drainage set up correctly, natural stone performs for years on both the floor and the walls of a shower; a honed or textured surface is preferred for slip resistance.
What determines the price of bathroom work?
The area of the surfaces to be clad, the chosen stone and slab quality, basin and countertop details and the scope of workmanship determine the price. An exact quote follows the on-site survey and slab selection.
